The Straits Institute for Applied AI sets the Standard behind every SIAA credential. It is based in Singapore, a joint venture of Straits AI Group and iGroup.
The Institute
The Institute is the training, publishing and academic research body of Straits AI Group and iGroup. It builds AI education for the people who do the work. SIAA is its credential: an exam on real work, marked against a published Standard.

The Academic Board
The Academic Board reviews the SIAA Standard and appoints the Examination Board. It never writes exam questions or marks your work.

Dr Hongthai Tan, PhD
Cambridge-trained scientist and entrepreneur.
PhD, University of Cambridge. Managing Director of a stem cell research practice; builds regulated, science-based ventures in Asia. Translates research-driven science into deployed practice.
Dr Tom Liu (Liu Bo), PhD
Edinburgh-trained scientist and senior technology leader.

Thirty years building technology companies. Founded the Straits AI Group to deliver sovereign AI infrastructure to governments and AI workforce training at scale, internationally.
Two members hold roles at Straits AI Group, one of the two companies behind the Institute. The Impartiality Committee reviews that conflict.
Governance
The Examination Board runs the Standard day to day. Examiners mark results, the Board decides which results a person must review before release, and a registrar issues credentials. No one person writes a question, sets the pass mark and marks your work.
